John Trotta is a fiction writer and poet. He received his MFA in Fiction from Hunter College (2013), where he studied under Peter Carey, Colum McCann and Claire Messud. His short stories have been published in nationally distributed magazines including Slice and ADULT. Growing up, he moved frequently, dividing the majority of his formative years between Italy and Maryland. He has also lived in N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Kansas, Hawaii, and Colorado. He is currently at work on his first novel, How Weren't You There. He is also a freelance writer and editor.
